The real title of this book should be “Captain Obvious.” None of the tips are insightful! It’s like me writing a book called “The Sky is Blue.” I do give it two stars as a replacement for of one star because it goes down simple like a fluffy marshmellow, but there isn’t much substance to it.
Here are a few of the tips:
1. Grow a garden because then you will get in touch with scenery. Really? Wow!
2. Go for walks because that’s healthy.
3. Adopt a sense of marvel. (I do marvel how this book was published!)
4. Get a massage because it’s nice to spoil yourself.
5. If you have an hindrance, just overcome it because that will make you feel better.
Now this 5th tip was one of the most annoying. It’s really tip #28 called “Place up with some discomfort” on page 80. It’s like really? How do you get through the discomfort? Nike’s slogan “Just Do It” is a more pithy answer than anything from this book. There is no advice. Just do it. That to me is a pretty lame self-help book.
The main theme of the book is to like the small things, feel like the divine is a part of your life daily, and, of course, follow your dreams and instincts. No advice as to how to really accomplish anything though.
There are many more inspiring books out there. An ancient book, but one I thought had better value is Super Self: Doubling Your Personal Effectiveness and as of now there are copies that cost only 1 penny used. It really has some real advice in it about changing life for the better. I establish it more inspiring than this Charmed Life book. I do like the title “Charmed Life” though.
If you want fluffy feel-excellent platitudes, then this is the book for you.

There are a lot of self help books in the market, and many of them start to sound alike. This one, but, has a lot of fresh, new thoughts for dealing with every day situations. It is very readable and can be easily fit into a busy schedule by reading a few of the fleeting chapters every day. Has some concepts and suggestions that are truly unique.

I like this type of book. A series of point things you can do to improve your life, usually 2 or 3 pages per topic. Some extremely simple things you’ve permanently known, some things that you need reminding about, and some groundbreaking new thoughts.

I like the Richard Carlson approach and do not tire of living a charmed life. I have time to learn so why not the secrets of spirituality and sensiblity.I feel warm vibes and cuddly when I read an approach to all that is Divine in this smart package of a book. I wasn’t sure what I was getting and was surprised that it was in that style of writing. Hats to you I still look up things at random and reread passages every once in a while. I am grateful for this book coming into my life.
