Product Description
From bestselling leader Christopher Moore comes a odd, irreverent novel of like, myth, metaphysics, bandit biking, and outrageous redemption.Amazon.com Review
This is an accelerating comedy with shadows setting off the wry, polished humor. Trickster deities thrive on contrariety, which is why one finds them bringing life into dead landscapes and disorder into order. A Santa Barbara insurance salesman’s too-tidily-contained lifestyle, far from the Crow reservation he grew up on, is an irresistible target for Coyote, who wants to make sure his chosen people don’t forget him. Coyote descends on Sam Hunter like one of Job’s plagues, albeit a charmingly disingenuous one. “Why me? Why not a name who believes?” questions Sam, suffering from god-induced chaos. “This is more fun,” says Coyote. He’s right.

I have to be honest and try to steer people away from this book. I had not read anything by this leader previously and bought it based on the recommendations on Amazon. It turned out to be a waste of valuable reading time.
The plot and characters are thinly developed. The humor isn’t ingenious or amusing, and any potential for the theme matter to be appealing just doesn’t come across to me. I truly can’t know all of the positive reviews, but maybe this sophomorically written and shallowly developed piece is what alot of readers want. I really can’t reflect of one character or situation in this book that is inventive or genuinely imaginative. Sorry.
My advice, look elsewhere for reading that is worthwhile, unique, and fun to read.

Perhaps one of the most amusing books I have ever read. If Christopher Moore writes it I will be reading it. We all need this kind of insanity in our lives.

I have to admit that despite my like for A Dirty Job, I’m not a huge fan of Moore’s earlier works. Not only are some characters reused (which I don’t really have a problem with — nothing incorrect with recurring characters!), he uses some of the same stereotypes in every book, it seems. There’s permanently a mostly-high surfer dude. There’s permanently a cantankerous (and probably homely) ancient lady. And of course, the earnest (if sometimes misguided) main character. I reflect what really rubbed me incorrect in this book was Coyote himself. I know he is supposed to be a “trickster” spirit, but I establish him more mean-spirited than anything. Especially when he steals Sam’s car, sells it, and gambles away his bank account. I reflect you’re supposed to find his naiveté endearing, but I didn’t. I’ll keep reading (or rather, listening) to Moore’s books, but mostly because they’re what my spouse wants to hear.

Moore doesn’t have the bite or focus of Vonnegut but he is still darn excellent.

A friend of mine got me to read like nun, and I absoltly adored it… Moore is a brillant writer and his skills with charecter devolpment are incredible. Ever sense reading Like nun I have not been able to place Moore down. Coyote Blue is just as excellent as the rest, if Not better. I cant compare it to BS fiends cause I have’nt read that yet, But it is right up there with the rest of moores witty novels. Over all Essisment, If you like excellent charecters, a excellent plot, and a excellent laugh, Moore is your man.
