Product Description
Redemption isn’t a word Jim Heron knows much about-his specialty is revenge, and to him, sin is all relative. But everything changes when he becomes a fallen angel and is charge with saving the souls of seven people from the seven deadly sins. And failure is not an option. Vin DiPietro long ago sold his soul to his business, and he’s excellent with that-until fate intervenes in the form of a tough- talking, Harley-riding, self-professed savior. But then he meets a woman who will make him question his destiny, his sanity, and his heart-and he has to work with a fallen angel to win her over and redeem his own soul.

Ok. I reflect I was expecting too much of Covet. What with all the chatter on her site about the book but curiously, many fundamentals of the book sort of fizzled and fell flat for me. What I liked first:
Jim Heron
Vincent DiPietro
Devina
As unlikely as it seemed the selection of Jim as our Fallen Angel was cool and appears to have excellent legs to withstand the rest of the series journey (but long that may be) but I reflect he should have remained human and not become a poof able un-dead. Because he’ll deserve an HEA and seeing mom at the pearly gates just ain’t enough
Vincent is just the type of lost soul alpha male I delight in reading about
Devina… Ohhh so terrible she’s excellent and I am glad we’ll see more of her/it…or whatever throughout the books
What disappointed:
Marie-Terese
The Angels
The pace
I am sorry WARDen but MT just did not do it for me as our heroine. The whole hooker with a heart of gold, lost my way, woe is me thing just did not grab me. At times, she fit the prototypical TSTL suit she threw on. I am sorry but if her son was her whole reason for going on the run then apt a prostitute and hooking up with a guy who is in the devil’s crosshairs just does not smack of doing it all for junior. And am I not flawed that she could have made pretty excellent cheddar pole dancing??!! WTH! She had about as much sizzle as the statue that was stolen by her whack job stalker.
The Angels were a small to “Bewitched” for me. I was just waiting for one of them to start wrinkling their nose to make the odd picture in my head perfect.
The pace c’mon WARDen. If I am right Vin and Marie-Terese fell hard for each additional in what 3 days… a week tops! That just pushed the envelope for me a bit to close to the edge of belief. I don’t know about you but I would need some serious therapy if I were Vin or MT after the week they had.
In any event. The WARDen is clearly in world building mode here and I hope the sitch straightens itself out by the second book because you may be on to something here. But please no more gratuitous BDB appearances. They deserve to have a tale worth crossing over to and not just persons faux glimpses of them in a church and NA meeting. So no threat to the BDB with this effort but we’ll see what the future brings.

JR Ward is officially my favorite leader now! Sorry to say, she can’t write as quick as I read. This book, the first installment in her Fallen Angels series) is phenomenal. She hooked me with the “Brothers” (of Black Dagger Brotherhood), now I’m in like with the Angels.

Don’t start this book if you have ANYTHING else to do for the next day or so, like, maybe sleep. Or eat. It hooks you from the first. I like the characters. All of them. I was wondering how it would compare to the BDB series… well. wow.Or, drat, now I’m hooked on this series too. Incredible leader. Buy anything she writes. COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!! Question my spouse at 2:45 AM the day it arrived. Who needs to sleep. Awesome.
