There are several contradictions in the book, on the question and answer forum about B’s eating wheat flour, but not wheat bread, he answered to something really beside the point, and would not deal with it. I wanted to question a similar question, if I can have all dairy why not ice cream. He does’t answer mail anymore. I marvel why? you can forwards this to him if you can find him. I was going to recommend this book, but I will not now.

After hearing fantastic things about this book and success tales we bought both this book and the coordinating cook book. While the “principles,” were appealing, and insightful, it is not a diet I could stick with nor my spouse. The food choices were a bit bizarre, some I never heard of! Not only that, most of the regular foods you’ve been eating all of your life are banned from his diet, depending on your type. Appealing, but definately not a life long program to stick with.

I like this book. I just came off the Adkins Diet and lost 26 pounds from that but cannot seem to get not more than 180. I’d like to go down to 170 or 175. I’m going to give this blood type diet a try. Reading it generated some more questions for me though. What are Azuki beans? Is the sweetener Stevia terrible for me? Can I continue to take L-carnitine as a supplement?

I was momentously disappointed in this book – the recipes are so unimaginative and unflavorful. Plus, many seem much too high in carbohydrates, especially the quick acting variety…Too Terrible.

This book is a total farce. Maybe it has helped some people, but it didn’t work for me at all. After taking two blood tests to make sure I was a type A, I tried his recommendations despite my reservations. Dr. D’Adamo says type A’s should be mainly vegetarian and eat high carbo/low stout. This type of diet has never worked for me at all. I even joined the blood type email list and followed the suggestion of others who informed me that there are “several types of A’s” and one type needs more chicken and fish . After a few days on this diet, I felt like I was going to pass out and I wanted to punch a name else out. I was irritable, crabby, weird, shaky, nervous and weak. This is one of the worst diets I’ve ever tried, it may have helped some but I suspect their improvement is due to eating better foods in all-purpose and getting more exercise. Ironically, I am now doing well on a high protein diet, so why am I not type O?????
