This book gave me a lot of fantastic thoughts for my second year of education t-ball. It is a fantastic reference and also gave me backing for why I was allowing the kids to play different positions, etc. The only issue you can run into is that the rules or how to play in the book are likely different than your league so you need to be very aware of how your league differs. Some of the drills are much too ancient for the age of the kids in my t-ball league (3-6 year olds) but would be excellent for older kids or kids with more experience.

I am a first timer T-Ball coach. I volunteered to be the assistant coach and they were fleeting on individuals so I had to step up and be full blown coach. I knew nothing. This book has helped out tremendously with everything from drills to running a game. I would certainly recommend this book to anyone. Of course, there are some things you’re going to have to learn on your own and some things that you will be able to clarify better to children (for instance, on how to hold the ball they clarify it by keeping the thumb and pinky low and the additional three fingers on top holding the ball on the pads of the fingers. As a replacement for of telling 4, 5, and 6 year olds this it’s simpler to tell them to make a “tiger claw” and that’s how they hold the ball) but overall this book will get you to where you need to be!

As a first time coach I had small thought what to expect when preparing for education a T ball team. This was a perfect guide to organize with and prepare the team for a season. I have worked through the five practices now and have gained confidence in running the team based on the guidelines open in this book. I would recommend it to anyone who needs to coach a team. It truly is a step by step guide so is invaluable for a first time coach.

This was one of the books I chose for my inaugural season as a T-ball coach. In my search for reference material I’ve establish that for as many books as there are out there for all manner of sports, books on T-ball are in fleeting supply… excellent ones anyway. This book runs through education T-ball from beginning to end. Not just on the meadow stuff but pre-season, pre-game, post-game, parent relations, etc. I doubt just one book will contain all the information that a new coach needs but this one comes pretty close. If your a new coach I’m sure you will find alot in this book that will help to prepare you for the upcoming season. The reason for only 4 stars though is that I want to see the drills and exercise section enlarged (surely the leader, who is the co-founder and president of the T-ball USA association, can come up with more drills or thoughts for creative learning than what is open in this book). Overall… probably the best choice for T-ball reference I could recommend at this time.
