Bloodlust and dark forces are at work at the House of Night…
Fledgling vampyre Zoey Redbird’s adventures at the school are about to take a mysterious turn. Persons who appear to be her friends are turning out to be enemies. And oddly enough, sworn enemies are also turning into friends. So starts the gripping third installment of this “highly addictive series” (Romantic Times), in which Zoey’s mettle will be tested like never before. Her best friend, Stevie Rae, is undead and struggling to maintain a grip on her humanity. Zoey doesn’t have a clue how to help her, but she does know that anything she and Stevie Rae learn about the secretive and sinister power that’s turning dead fledglings into bloodsucking monsters must be kept secret from everyone else at the House of Night, where trust has become a rare commodity.
Language of rare: Zoey finds herself in the very unexpected position of having three boyfriends. Mix in more than a small forbidden desire to the equation and the situation has the potential to spell social disaster of massive proportions. Then, vampyres start turning up dead. Really dead. It looks like the People of Faith, and Zoey’s horrid step-loser in particular, are tired of living side-by-side with vampyres. But, as Zoey and her friends find out, things are not permanently what they seem…

it was alright and had a storyline that works. I loved Breaking Dawn unlike some weep babies !

This saga has been reasonably consistent. To be honest, I fell in like with Twilight but New Moon and Eclipse broke my heart and Breaking Dawn was a painful read; I nearly killed myself. But this series continues to provide me a consistent stream of entertainment since it didn’t get my hopes up that high and then shatter it. This book is adequate but a excellent read none the less. I reflect this one is not as excellent as Betrayed though. but yey, go zoey get that neferet!

Fantastic series but this book was a bit of a let down. I like pleased endings! I can’t help it. So the unresolved ending was off-putting plus all this additional negative stuff happened to the heroine, which she didn’t reasonably triumph over. I hope the next one ends better.

Honestly I’m not sure how this leader has won so many awards. And I worry about whether her daughter really speaks like the teens in this series do. I’ve gone this far in the series just because….I’m not permanently excellent at letting a series drop once I’ve ongoing. It’s like watching a movie you reflect isn’t so excellent, but you’ve already ongoing so you might as well end. Some aspects of the tale are appealing, but honestly I cannot stand how some of the main character’s speak. They sound SOOOO immature. Real teens would be highly embarrassed to speak like that whether they are “innocent and pure” or not. Honestly. The twins get on my nerves and the main characters use such babyish/lame words and phrases that I can’t even remotely take them seriously when they talk about feeling womanly or talk about anything regarding sex. They use elementary school insults and talk about peeing themselves on a regular basis. I kept hoping I could snub how they speak or that it would get better, but they do it way too regularly to be ignored. Like I said, some of the tale is appealing. But I am way too regularly annoyed by the main characters to root for them properly. If there are to be many more books in this series, I hope I can wean myself off. Books like Vampire College are just so much better. They place this series to bring shame on.
