If you’re only going to read one Chicken Soup book, this is the one. The fact that the authors are world experts on the mother-daughter relationship makes this book especially compelling. The tales are moving and inspirational and run the gamut from amusing to tragic. Once you start reading it’s hard to place down. A ripping excellent read!

I have never read any of the books in the
“Chicken Soup” series until I was agreed a gift of
CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE MOTHER & DAUGHTER SOUL.
Having read Julie and Dorothy Firman’s first book
DAUGHTERS AND MOTHERS: HEALING THE RELATIONSHIP,
I expected excellent things. I was not disappointed.
The tales gathered by the authors are touching
and well written. I find myself both laughing and crying.
The personal vignettes are each perfect unto themselves
and yet together they comprise a book of gentle
wisdom and insights. I’ve been inspired to order
eight copies to give to the mothers, sisters and
daughters in my life. One copy will be sent to
my grandmother who will soon celebrate her 100th
birthday.
When my daughters were growing up we would
sing this song to the tune of White Coral Bells:
“Hot chicken soup, in a china bowl. No matter what
your troubles, it will make you whole.” This book,
if you allow it, will contribute to your wholeness.
