This is an entertaining book. But, be aware of the foul language. A name should tell Sophie Kinsella, the leader, that foul language is disappointing, not cute, not necessary to the plot, and still offensive to many people.

This a rip off of the Bridget Jones series. I can just imagine the publisher nodding off to sleep while reading the rough draft. “Hmmm, the character is shallow, unattractive, not more than average in intelligence but Bridget Jones sold millions of copies so there has to be an audience for this book.” My daughter’s book, HOP ON POP had more substance.

I was five hours from home and bored, so I chose to stop by the local libery, get a card and check out a book. I wanted something light and fuzzy, so I could get through it quickly and take a break from some of the heavier stuff I have been reading. I was oringally looking for one of the leader’s Shopacholic books, but only establish this one. I was oddly disappointed, though I don’t know why. I wanted a light read and that’s what I got.
Emma Corrigan is a hapless British woman, struggling to hold onto her job. Blowing what she believes to be her one chance at a promotion, she boards an airplane already depressed. Scary turbulence causes Emma to spill all her secrets to the man seated next to her. Going to work the next day, Emma finds out that the man next to her is the CEO of her company. What follows is a series of wacky but predicat able high jicks.
The book is best described as a Julia Roberts movie, sweet, but there is nothing different to set it apart from additional chick lite and it is forgetable. There was knowing new here at all. I shouldn’t complain, because I wanted fluff. I just thought I would get fluff with a small more substance.

I read the entire Shopaholic series and loved it..this book didn’t get off the ground until the final 10 pages. If you want a better read that’s more for a mature adult, buy GREEN EGGS & HAM by Dr. Seuss..don’t waste your money on this book!
