Mechanic Mercy Thompson has friends in low places-and in dark ones. And now she owes one of them a favor. Since she can shapeshift at will, she agrees to act as some extra muscle when her vampire friend Stefan goes to deliver a message to another of his kind.

I’ve read reasonably a few bokks by Patricia Briggs, but this is definately not her best. The details on the life of vampires; they keep a colony of humans to ensure that they have a steady supply of blood, does not reasonably ring right. The interaction of the heroine with wampires, some excellent some are terrible, on a daily reasonably casual basis was a new twist but I was not really impressed. The fundamentals for a excellent tale were there but emotional content missing. No real like, no real friendship. I couldn’t really get involved. It’s a excellent yarn. If you want to do some casual reading over the weekend or something, the book has my recommendation. But you will not burn to turn pages to see what’s coming next.

This book was every bit as excellent as the prequel to it. The only problem is the wait. I waited for this one and now have to wait for the next. Keep ‘em coming, Patricia, they’re excellent.

This book was….not exceptional. I expected more after Moon Called (which was EXCELLENT!) Blood Bound reminded me a small too much of the terrible parts of the Anita Black series. Too many like interests, none of them appealing. Too much ‘poor small heroine’ not enough of the strong resilient Mercy present in Moon Called. It was the first time Patricia Briggs disappoints. I’m not a fan of fantasy, but after Moon Called, I read all of her books and LOVED them. This was not of the same caliber, so I will nervously await the next installment, cautiously optimistic.
