As has been made very clear, this tale is the second half of “Remember When” and not a new tale. Like many others I had been very excited when I saw a “new” book by NR/JDR coming out. When I saw the title I wondered if they were going to expand on Jack’s tale, but before I bought it I ACTUALLY READ THE DESCRIPTION, obviously something none of the whiners did. At that point it is on the buyer’s head. If you choose to respond by not buying NR’s books you will be missing awesome future tales. This tale is a fantastic Eve Dallas book, and I’m sure there will be a lot more. I look forwards to them. The rest of you could try taking a small personal responsibility for your own “unwise” buy and get over yourselves.

I read the information, knew that it is a reprint in 2 books from an earlier book. This is the way the book should have published the first time. But get a grip, the leader has sold the book to the publishing company. They choose how it is published. I own the hardcover, I just downloaded this book to my Kindle, because this is the tale, I reread. I lover NR, the woman could write the telephone book and it would be appealing. Yes, some of her books are better than others, that is right with most if not all writers. No body hits a home run every time.

A few pages in on every book is the title page. i.e.
Huge Jack
(Previously published in Remember When)
J. D. Robb.
Berkeley Books, New York.
It’s right there in black and white.
You didnt read this page, did you!
Right behind the title page is a very informational page. Look for the Copyright and you will see what year it was printed. In this case, it says Copyright @ 2003 by Nora Roberts.
The publisher legally has to reveal all this info, but you didnt read it, did you!
Well, try reading this inside page on all the books you read in the future and you can either save your self some money or buy the book for the sheer enjoyment of the leader.
That’s my tale and I’m sticking to it!!!!
P.S. I loved both tales and will keep the books.

To all the terrible reviews and people blaming Nora Roberts for a reprint fooling them… Just reading the description, I knew I had read this book before and the year it takes place is 2059 which is a year + behind where the tale is for new books. Most of her new books are “In Death”, so that is telling also. Also, for books written under the Nora Roberts name, she ongoing putting a NR seal in the upper confront of all her NEW books. She ongoing doing this years ago, when all her books ongoing being reprinted. I loved this book and would read it again. I know that it is frustrating to get an ancient book you reflect is new, but NR fans should be aware of this.

I was glad to find this tale. I don’t buy collections of fleeting tales regularly, and therefore, had missed this tale and am glad they place in a book by itself. I knew there had been a tale about a diamond heist but hadn’t been able to find it as the title doesn’t follow the rest of the series’ naming convention. Just wish it was in hardcover as I re-read series periodically, like to read the novels in order, and hardcover lasts better than paperback. I’m going to have to figure out where this one fits between additional In Death novels. I hope the next novel, after Fantasy In Death, puts this novel in the In Death list on the glide leaf, though I know the publishers haven’t done this for three novellas that I own in slim paperback editions (Interlude In Death and Midnight in Death are 2 of the 3).
