Fledgling vampyre Zoey Redbird has managed to settle in at the House of Night. She’s come to terms with the vast powers the vampyre goddess, Nyx, has agreed her, and is getting a handle on being the new Leader of the Dark Daughters. Best of all, Zoey finally feels like she belongs–like she really fits in. She really has a boyfriend-or two. Then the unthinkable happens: Human teenagers are being killed, and all the evidence points to the House of Night. While danger stalks the humans from Zoey’s ancient life, she starts to realize that the very powers that make her so unique might also threaten persons she likes. Then, when she needs her new friends the most, death strikes the House of Night, and Zoey must find the courage to face a treachery that could break her heart, her soul, and jeopardize the very fabric of her world.

Okay, no matter who you are, this book is terrible! The only people who will like this book are the pathetic, bone idle teens, who as a replacement for of building themselves better people, just blame all their problems on the fact that they are (slot in your problem i.e. stout, hideous, whatever) and that this characteristic is what the people around them judge them on (which may or may not be right), as a replacement for of their rude attitudes. This leader has no talent, as a replacement for relying on what people want to hear, not unlike another vampire novel… Not only does this leader have terrible grammar, and not a single creative, original thought (yes, this novel is VERY similar to another vampire novel that came out years before this one), she constantly inserts her sexual desires into her books (HELLO! “I’m not a slut!” Yet you’ve had sex with a teacher, and you’re cheating on your ‘boyfriend’. Is this a harem novel!?), she obviously despises Christianity. I emailed her once after I read a part in her book where the heroine gets a cross from her ‘evil stepfather’, and the well loved axiom, “The reason for the season”, is on it, and questioned her whether or not her stepfather’ religion was Christianity. She answered it wasn’t but since after that there have been copious accounts (please read book to learn more), and it’s obvious this woman has been hurt and she’s taking her prejudice out on her readers. Her characters have no character depth, all the incredible things take place to our heroine and her friends. I could go on forever. Basically, if you need to hear that you are more special than the people who are prettier and more well loved than you, and that someday your dreams will come right while you sit on the couch and wait for it. Please, go on and read this book, I’d despise to reflect you might really grow up!

I loved the first in the series and wasnt let down on bit by this second book. I dont want to ruin what happens, ut at a certain part I actallu wanted to weep because I felt for Zoey so much. That poor girl!
Anyways, I really cant wait until march for the third book in the series. Once this is over, I really hope both authors team up again and start another series.
