This book is chock-full of recipes, nutritional facts, advice. It has recipes for babies, toddlers, and even adults. It even tells things like what foods are not excellent for babies, which foods are choking-hazards, etc. I only want to say enough to let you know this book is wonderful, but not much more, because if you want this cookbook for yourself, you are in for a treat. (No pun proposed.)
I recommend this book to anyone, whether or not you have kids, or if you are a cookbook collector. I reflect this book is especially excellent for aunts, because they are the ones who usually take a lot of pride in cooking and doing additional things for nieces and nephews.
Some of these recipes look very excellent indeed!!!

This colorful cookbook is a joy to flip through with it’s vibrant colors. The lively colored purees pictured in this book should be enough to convince anyone of the health benefits of home prepared baby food as opposed to the canned junk in the store. If that’s not enough, the authors have added opinion for home prepared baby food in the book.
The recipes themselves look fantastic. It’s nice that some recipes were included for the moms & dads as well. It’s especially nice that many of them include food items that you’re already preparing for baby or for your kid. I counted 55 recipes in the book geared towards babies and toddlers. My only wish for the book is that it contained more recipes. With a list fee of $19.99, I would reflect a mere 65 or so total recipes just doesn’t cut it, but this book is filling a niche, and is more of a novelty cookbook. With amazon’s lower fee, I’d say the fee is right!

My daughter is about to have her second child and I thought this would be a excellent way for me to help out by building baby food for her when the time comes. I made all the baby food for my son and that was over 30 years ago and he thrived on it. I did it then to save money and it’s still a way to save money today. The presentation of the book is very colorful, inviting and simple to read and know. I thought it was just going to be recipes but it is so much more. I would have agreed a lot all persons years ago for the information on nutrition, safety, preparation and advice that this book includes. And parents aren’t forgotten either since recipes are included for the grownups too. This would be a fantastic present for an expectant mother.

Rather than tell my palate’s result to the 60 recipes designed for babies, I thought it might be better to clarify a small about why I reflect this book is a excellent investment.
Most busy parents don’t know that they have the time to make healthy food for their baby so they go with store-bought, mass-produced food because they judge it’s simpler, trusted, nutritious, and quick. But the fact is, mass produced baby food may be OK, but it’s not fantastic tasting or automatically the most nutritious. What most of us don’t know is that it’s simple and relatively quick to make fantastic food for your baby. According to the leader, “you can make two weeks of wholesome food in less than one hour a week!” But the advantage goes beyond that. Since you’re building the food, you control the ingredients, so you can make it tasty, nutritious, and natural, and it’s much cheaper that store-bought! So you save money in the process of feeding your child better food, a win-win situation.
Before you get to the many fantastic professional-chef made/approved recipes there is a large section on how to do it right, including an intro from the chef, followed by 17 pages of instructions, including sanitation and storage. There is a excellent pointer for locating favorite recipes, and each recipe has basic information on yield, ingredients, and a recommended age group the recipe is appropriate for. The recipes are also infused with chef’s notes and nutrition tips. It should be noted, too, that the authors have 3 babies of their own and full-time careers, so they have experience (and authentic taste-testers) to back up what they’ve place together here.
Like I said at the beginning, this review is not about the recipes. That said, even if your baby doesn’t like a single one (unlikely!!!) I’d buy this book for the information on food prep and storage for babies, knowing that I can permanently modify a recipes to fine-tune it for my child.
All in all, this a fantastic book. It’s hard bound for durability so it should last you through at least a couple of babies. By the time it’s worn out, hopefully the authors will come up with a new edition to replace your ancient, worn out one.
