A thrilling epic about an very ancient clash reignited in our time- between a hidden society and heaven’s darkest creatures
There were giants in the planet in persons days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bore children to them.
Genesis 6:5
Sister Evangeline was just a girl when her father entrusted her to the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Worship in upstate New York. Now, at twenty-three, her discovery of a 1943 letter from the legendary philanthropist Abigail Rockefeller to the late mother superior of Saint Rose Convent plunges Evangeline into a secret history that stretches back a thousand years: an very ancient conflict between the Society of Angelologists and the monstrously gorgeous descendants of angels and humans, the Nephilim.
For the secrets these letters guard are desperately coveted by the once-powerful Nephilim, who aim to perpetuate war, sabotage the excellent in humanity, and dominate mankind. Generations of angelologists have devoted their lives to stopping them, and their shared mission, which Evangeline has long been destined to join, reaches from her bucolic abbey on the Hudson to the apex of insular wealth in New York, to the Montparnasse cemetery in Paris and the mountains of Bulgaria.
Rich in history, full of mesmerizing characters, and wondrously conceived, Angelology blends biblical lore, the myth of Orpheus and the Miltonic visions of Paradise Lost into a riveting tale of ordinary people engaged in a battle that will determine the fate of the world.

I would never buy this book in e format due to its fee. Far too greedy to allow such a tiny difference between the printed copy and electronic version. Buyer beware…if you are a Kindle user, do not buy this book in e format!

After leading me vividly through the Hell of her childhood with a post-traumatic ex-Vietnam-tunnel-rat father (in her previous book “Falling Through the Planet”) and his girlfriends such as Suzy who
“… was part of the North Side scene. She played softball for Sloopy’s, drank twenty-five-cent taps at Fishes, and had a way with words that only a resident of Loomis Street could have. Suzie was pale and freckly with strawberry-blonde hair and an all-American smile that implied a Kewpie Doll childhood and a hula-hoop adolescence.”
I was more than ready to follow her into her next writing venture, which turned out to be a slightly different world, populated by such creatures as the villain Percival’s mother, Sneja, “… stretched out upon her favorite divan, a gorgeous and imposing piece of Gothic furniture with serpents carved into the wood frame. [...] She’d splayed her lush, brilliant-colored wings behind her, folded and arranged to fantastic effect, as if showing the family tree jewels. As Percival approached, he was nearly blinded by their shine, each delicate spine shimmering like a sheet of tinted foil.” These aren’t familiar territories for me, if for anyone, but once you’re in them, you can’t get out until you’ve turned the last page. And even then…
Danielle Trussoni has remarkable talent. From post-traumatic stark bar-room brawls to elegant evil angelic spine-tingling quests, she has the words to place you there.

I selected this book up on lark and read the first couple of pages. It was so compelling that I bought a cappuccino and spent the next four hours with my head spinning following Evangeline as plunged into the world of the Nephilim. The descriptive language pulled me in to the point I felt I could feel and smell the world of these characters. I like to travel and the book takes you to some very appealing places. That this additional world has sprung into the world fully formed from a name writing their first novel is incredible. Can’t wait for the next book and the movie.

“There is a reason Oprah selected Angelology as one of her top books. Danielle Turssoni has written an unforgettable book. This book has it all, history, religion, demons, angels and humans. The Nephilim are a mixed race, not just any race but are a combination of angels and humans. When a Catholic Nun finds out that she is a Nephilim, nothing can stop her from following her destiny. Angelology is sure to be as huge a run off seller as the The Da Vinci Code.
