Product Description
For FBI Hostage Rescue Team member Evan Cooper and his partner, dignitary protection duty should have been a piece of cake. Sorry to say, Monica Callahan isn’t building it simple. Alienated from her diplomat father–who is involved in a sensitive hostage situation in the Middle East–she refuses to be intimidated by a related terrorist threat back in the States. That is, until a chilling warning convinces her that the danger is very real–and escalating. As Coop and his partner do their best to keep her safe, Monica’s father triggers an abduction that puts his daughter’s life at risk. And with every second that ticks by, Coop knows that the odds of saving the only woman who has ever breached the walls around his heart are dropping. After all, terrorists aren’t known for their patience–or their mercy. Book one in the Heroes of Quantico series, this suspense-filled novel will whisk readers along for the thrilling ride.

There are not many books that I can not end. This was one. This book was proselytizing at its worst. To be reasonably honest I felt that the leader could not choose on what kind of book she wanted to write. First all this talk about Christianity then suddenly, out of nowhere, the lady is having thoughts about what kind of magic Cooper could do on her body with his fingers, then the FBI, then the terrorists in the Middle East (Muslim, of course)…. The characters? A joke. The writing? None to speak of. Really, is this what publishers reflect that women like? (I am trying to write this review as choppy as her writing in this book was.)

I chose to download this book based upon the FBI/Quantico angle. NCIS is my favorite show; my cousin is stationed at Quantico and my brother-in-law is an FBI profiler. As such, it sounded like a book that would be in line with my interests.
What I did not expect, but, was the religious aspect of the novel. If I had known it was considered christian fiction, I never would have read it.
Overall it was too predicable, too cliched, and too preachy for me.

christian books should be identified as such. this book is sophomoric, trite, and shallow. the tale is just window dressing for the usual christian propaganda.

Kept hoping that the tale would improve – to be honest it ongoing reasonably well but was predictable, shallow and unbelievable. The characters were unsympathetic and with no depth to them. I did read it from beginning to end but felt reasonably mad that I had done so!

Not generally a reader of “Christian” fiction, I’m with Samuel Goldwyn about messages – if you want to deliver one , send a telegram. But, this book was free on Kindle, so I took a chance. The tale itself was not terrible, had enough suspense to keep me reading, and had a honestly satisfying conclusion. I could have done lacking the last chapter though, and felt that the ending was just a small too much icing on this already too sweet cake. I’ll stay away from this type of fiction hereafter.
