I’ve read ever book in the Brunetti series and I permanently keenly await Donna Leon’s next novel, sorry to say this latest book, although worth reading, is nowhere near her best work. The book moves at a snails pace and far to much is made of the heat wave in Venice and how intolerable it is to the locals. There is a decent plot and a few unexpected twists, but in the end, the overall flow of the novel left me unsatisfied.
