I was very disappointed that I did not receive the book in a timely manner. I was told a week after I ordered that they did not have it in stock as they thought they did and I could cancel if I did not want to wait for it. I then tried to cancel and was told it had been shipped. I had to wait 2 weeks before getting it and was very frustrated.

Yes, yes. It’s a excellent book. No one is adage it isn’t in line with Tolle’s all-purpose view. And it’s well-written. But I’m going to give some consideration to what some very intelligent people are adage about the messenger. It is vital. And I can’t help but notice that the reviewers writing this off are both MALE. (“Clowns”?)
I am female and I am certainly looking at this. Why? Because I know if Eckhart were female, that person would have never gotten such praise. We are trained to reflect of “God” as Male from kid-hood. Yes, it leaves an impression as to who has spiritual “power”. That this additional person was adage Tolle is Sexist–no one seemed to bat an eyelash. “Clowns”? Hardly. Persons entries are smart and thought-provoking commentaries. Very legitimate. And yes, they aren’t exactly referring to Tolle BEFORE his huge spiritual leap forwards. (Glastonbury, England is where Tolle lived back in the early 90’s.) Or that “detachment” is ok in the light of morality. He’s a huge spiritual guy, that Tolle, so he’s excused. Right? You bet that’s a predictable male viewpoint.
How nonsensical!.

I am going to tell you what I judge. I judge this is a work of the devil to draw christians away from Jesus Christ. If you notice, the media, and everywhere we go, there are things trying to draw us away from Jesus Christ. Even religious holidays are covered up with nonreligious icons like The Easter bunny, and Santa Clause. THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END. WE ARE GOING THROUGH A SPIRITUAL WAR. THE DEVIL WANTS US TO BELIEVE THERE IS NO JESUS CHRIST AND THAT HE CAN’T SAVE US AND THAT WE CAN SURVIVE WITHOUT HIM. THIS IS THE DEVIL’S PLAN. ONCE HE HAS YOU WHERE HE WANTS YOU, HE CAN TAKE OVER.
I want to share you about my experience. I thought I could live not believeing Jesus died for our sins and that he can’t save us, but I was flawed. Excellent things really happened to me, but one day I saw a spirit of the devil that was trying to take over my soul. As soon as I questioned Jesus to protect me, I was saved. The spirit disappeared and I was alive. LET ME SAY AGAIN, THIS IS A SPIRITUAL WAR WE ARE GOING THROUGH. THE ONLY WAY TO WIN IS TO BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST AND THAT’S ALL. ISN’T THAT AMAZING! JESUS PEOPLE ARE NOT SUFFERING. I MAY NOT HAVE A LOT OF MONEY BUT I AM DOING FINE AND I AM HAPPY. GOD’S PEOPLE ARE EVERYWHERE TO WARN PEOPLE ABOUT HOW JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS AND HOW WE CAN HAVE LIFE FOREVER WITH HIM. THE WAY TO WIN IN THIS CHRISIS IS TO BELIEVE JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS, AND THAT’S ALL!!! WE ALSO HAVE TO HELP OTHER PEOPLE IN DISBELIEF AND PRAY FOR THEM. IF WE BELIEVE WE HAVE SINNED, WE MUST REPENT, AND THAT’S ALL. ISN’T THAT EASY!!!!!!!!
YES, WE HUMANS ARE SMART, BUT WE STILL NEED TO BELIEVE THAT JESUS IS OUR SAVIOUR AND THAT HE DIED FOR OUR SINS!!!!!!!!!!!PLEASE GET EDUCATED, READ THE BIBLE TOO (ESPECIALLY THE REVELATION SECTION), AND COMPARE NOTES, AND YOU WILL KNOW THE TRUTH!!!!!!!

Barack Obama’s relations to Oprah Winfrey and her New Age guru, Eckhart Tolle, are the least examined, yet most revealing, and by far the most potentially ruinous of the senator’s controversial associations. Obama claims to be a “committed Christian,” yet appears to support Oprah in the worldwide dissemination of Tolle’s and her virulent anti-Christian doctrine.
The closeness of the tie may now be paying off. Oprah has rejected the thought of having Republican Vice Presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin as a guest on her show before the election. Palin would seem a natural. Did Oprah place Palin aside because of her loyalty to Obama?
And who is Eckhart Tolle? According to his own account, after a childhood of trauma and a young adult life of despair and depression, Tolle, at age twenty-nine, veteran a psychic split in his personality during which his ego or his fake, suffering-self collapsed, leaving him with the realization of his “right scenery as the ever-present I am, consciousness in its pure state prior to identification with form.” Not long after that, he entered into what he calls his “new incarnation as a spiritual teacher.” Judge it or not, Tolle thinks that he has become the greatest living spiritual teacher on planet by overcoming “egoic delusion.”
Oprah accepts Tolle’s doctrine completely and promotes it globally with a vehemence unmatched in her additional pursuits, so we may call the foundation of their joint venture, the Oprah/Tolle doctrine. But what exactly is it?
According to Tolle, the Sacred Scriptures (the apostle Paul’s term) are no longer sacred, having lost their essence, power, and inspiration. Tolle himself is now the essential interpreter of all things spiritual. Tolle’s words, not Christ’s, “contain a fantastic deal of spiritual power.” Tolle’s books, not the Bible, are “mentally alive.”
The Oprah/Tolle doctrine says that God the Father is a worn-out axiom disguising the right “it” behind all things: “universal intelligence,” in and of which, Tolle and Oprah imagine they consume abundantly. Jesus Christ is not the Son of God, but rather a “rare” human being, in contrast to the stoic Roman emperor, Marcus Aurelius, whom Tolle describes as an “exceedingly rare” human being. The second coming of Christ is not at all what the scriptures clarify, but rather “the transformation of human consciousness, a shift from time to presence, from thinking to pure consciousness, not the arrival of some man or woman.” According to Tolle, when Christ spoke of “salvation,” He really meant “enlightenment,” more specifically, the “radical transformation of human consciousness.”
If we were to place the Oprah/Tolle doctrine into the form of a bumper sticker or a sound bite it would be this: “Forget Christ and the Bible. Judge Tolle and Oprah.” In fleeting, the Oprah/Tolle doctrine makes a mockery of Christ and all of scripture.
The fake teaching inherent in the Oprah/Tolle doctrine is terrible enough. What makes it a thousand times worse, egregiously blameworthy even, is the fact that Oprah tells the lie of lies about it. She introduces her online class presenting the Oprah/Tolle doctrine by asserting that it “is not for or against any religion.” Not against Christianity? For the purpose of grasping the destructive violence that the Oprah/Tolle doctrine does to Christianity, picture the perfect word of God as existing on baked clay tablets. Now envision Oprah and Tolle taking sledgehammers to them. Persons who seek to obliterate the very foundation of Christianity are not against it?
On Oprah’s Web site, next to the words, “This online class is not for or against any religion,” she has placed an image of the spire of a Christian church with a cross at its top. How much more morally corrupt could Oprah be?
The Oprah/Tolle doctrine asserts that “[a] significant part of the planet’s population will soon admit, if they haven’t already done so, that humanity is now faced with a stark choice: Evolve or die.” Oprah and Tolle, in their own minds, have “awakened” and “evolved.” Oprah sees Barack Obama as having “awakened” and “evolved” as well. In South Carolina, Oprah called Obama “an evolved leader who can bring evolved leadership to our country.” This suggests that Oprah, who describes her relationship with Obama as “very, very personal,” knows the senator to be one who subscribes to the Oprah/Tolle doctrine.
At a UCLA rally, Oprah said, “I’m just following my own truth, and that truth has led to Barack Obama.” Oprah’s “own truth” is the anti-Christian Oprah/Tolle doctrine. Is the real Obama the Obama Oprah knows?
In Iowa, Michelle Obama said that Oprah had touched her soul and empowered her. How so? Through the blatantly anti-Christian Oprah/Tolle doctrine?
Is Obama a “committed Christian” as he claims, or is he on board with Tolle and Oprah in their global anti-Christian campaign? Or, as a third explanatory possibility, is the Tolle-entranced Oprah, “the richest and most influential woman in the world,” not the Oprah Obama knew?
Tolle describes persons who embrace his teaching as being “not for `my’ country but for all of humanity, not for `my’ religion but the emergence of consciousness in all human beings, not for `my’ species but for all sentient beings and all of scenery.” Sound familiar? Are persons the values we want in an American president? Time magazine called Tolle’s book, The Power of Now, so much “mumbo giant.” Even if you’re not a Christian, do you want a president whose vision of the American future is based, to any degree, on Tolle’s mumbo giant?
