If you are fimmilar with the writing style by Francine Rivers, you will delight in this series as well. The writer brings five women from the bible to life. It is written wonderful.
ONE EXCEPTION WHICH CHANGED MY GOOD RATING to this syries would be the tale of St. Mary. Even though it is called fiction, the writer should not change Christian believes so fervently. She has St. Mary having children with St. Joseph. I was shocked when I read it. I know that the bible could be interpreted in many ways. The bible mentions Jesus as first borne, so I judge that writer assumed St. Mary to have more children. But if St. Mary would have more children and Jesus would have brothers and sisters, for sure we would know it from the bible. So, the Virgin Mary was described as a fiction character and not Holy Mary. That was the last tale in this series. If the series would not include the tale of St. Mary, I would give the series four stars or privileged. I do not know how the last tale was published. It should have never been published as Christian fiction. Such blemishes should never be allowed!

I was already familiar with all these woman’s tales from the bible. Francine Rivers did add some new perspective and detail I had not thought of. I also admired and respected that after each tale she included the biblical account. Did it as a book club and all 6 women really loved it.

I am only half way through this book, but it is so excellent! Very informative and engaging. I already find the Bible appealing, but I like the way she has made the characters even more real. The question section at the end of each tale gives you the opportunity to check out the real tale, which has been a fantastic learning tool. Fantastic read!
