I have been told this is a fantastic book for teachers in poverty-stricken areas. I ordered this book based on persons recommendations. But, the ship date kept being pushed back later and later repeatedly by Amazon. I eventually cancelled the order and will seek this book elsewhere.

This seller never shipped the book and never returned my emails as to why. I ordered it for a course I had to teach on poverty and did not receive my book on time for the class. This seller should not be allowed to sell on the site.

I never recieved this book and the seller never responded to my email inquiry. I was never charged for it. But I really wanted the book.

I’ve read this book and had the misfortune of hearing her speak. While she is reasonably an entertaining performer,I reflect she has watched way too much T.V. She is quick to point out the difference as she see it between “generational poverty”(minorities) and situational poverty (white people). Of course she concentrates her trash on the ex-, not the latter. During her “show”, she gives an example of what the lady, who “does her nails”, has to say about “Mericka”. Wok hart make much money. I assume in her offense broken english, Ruby was trying to tell us that the women was of Asian decent. Educators that judge anything she has to say about “poor people”, are just as ignorant as she is, and should not influence our youth! After taking her small quiz, all the middleclass educators attending this talks were offended! Of course they do not view their children as property. Why then would you beleive anything this women, minus her sheet has to say about poor? Poor, loosely translated means minorities!
