I loved the previous three books in the Rachel Morgan series but this one was horrible. Very dull, lack of character development, and horrible character voice. I despised this book. I reflect Kim Harrison has ruined her books! I am sorely disappointed. The plot is dreadful. It is poorly written.

I had thought about what I wanted to write. I like a lot about this book, but there was a fantastic deal that I didn’t like about this book. I don’t mind that I don’t find this book satisfying, not all books can appeal to everyone. I don’t reflect that Kim lost it, but she didn’t write a tale that appealed to me.
There was a lot that I liked about the book. I liked the development of the characters. I liked that they worked together. I liked Jenks, Ivy, Jax, David, and of course the yummy Kist (but who wouldn’t??).
What I didn’t like wasn’t in anyway is a reflection of Kim’s ability to make a wonderful world. It’s only my not liking certain fundamentals of the storyline. I didn’t like the addiction to adrenaline storyline, Ivy taking blood from Rachel didn’t do it for me (it was missing in an intimacy that I had hoped for.), I despised Nick (I don’t reflect we needed to see Nick being the scumbag that he is.)…
I also missed Trent –

I’m not taking anything away from the writing or the depths of the characters, I just wasn’t impressed with the action of the book. I merely wanted to just get through the book. It was hard. I wanted to read a book about a witch and I just didn’t get that.

I like Rachel a lot, and Jenks was fantastic, but I am so sick of Ivy! She’s gorgeous, powerful, and it’s still not enough. The ongoing tension between Ivy and Rachel has just place me off these books. It never moves forwards. Until Ivy gets over herself, I can’t read anymore.
