I thought that this was an brilliant book, and I am very glad that I read it. I hope that I do not have to go through what persons women had to go through. They looked as though they were in so much pain they could die! I am in labor as I write this, and the book really helped me to know what is in store for me. Hang on a second, I am having a strong contraction. OOHHH! I hope the head comes out soon, I can’t take the pain any longer! If you are pregnant, make sounds when you give birth, it helps. Oh yeah, and be worried of the pain! Be very worried! I reflect I am going to pass out! Remember, keep your legs apart! OOHHH!

I bought this for myself and for my sister-in-law as small “pregnancy gifts.”
I was extremely disappointed! The in utero photos are gorgeous – BUT the content is EXTREMELY graphic – the entire section on manner of language is filled with photos of fully naked women delivering their babies. It is Very possible to give birth while basically clothed (I wear 2 hospital gowns, so as to take in front & back). It was not necessary to include this kind of nudity.
Additionally, the whole section that leads up to conception was also graphic & superfluous. I returned both books immediately!

i read an interview with the leader…all the babies were photographed in the womb…the interview said something like ‘ they didnt want to risk hurting the health of any babies who were being carried to term…all these were aborted!!!

The cruel truth about this book is that it is NOT a chronicle of new life, just beginning, but the horrific depiction of life cut tragically fleeting. The photographer confirmed years ago these photographs were taken of aborted fetuses, and was surprised anyone assumed otherwise. The book does a excellent job of impressing us with the beauty and marvel of developing babies in the womb, but only if we snub the reality of what we’re looking at: the bodies of children outside the womb, children never born.
