Although I just bought this book, I can tell already I am in for a treat. It takes guts to open up in this way. As a tennis pro myself, I can tell to much of this, but it is the deeper lessons that are within the words that we all can tell to. Sports is an incredible human invention. Once you are a star, you can do nothing incorrect. Your fans are permanently behind you. For such a poorly written book, how come it’s rated 4.5 stars? There is no depth in this book. Not only that, the English in this book would make even a foreigner like me laugh. I have nothing against Pete. He is a fantastic player, if not the greatest. But he is not a writer, and shouldn’t even bother with this. He already had enough money. And that co-leader? like McEnroe said: “You cannot be serious”.

This book was by far the greatest tennis book i have read yet. It sends not only a message to tennis players about the physical aspect of the game, but the tremendous mentality you must posess in order to make it to where Pete did. He did a fantastic job of laying that on the table and i judge this book can help out even our top notch players today by taking a look at the game through Petes fantastic career. He doesnt try to beat around the bush or be modest, he tells it how it is and i reflect many will benefit from that. This is a fantastic book not for just Sampras fans, but anyone looking to taking their game to the next and most vital step; getting the mentality down. It helps you look at things differently on and off the court to better yourself. Would recommend to anyone!

This book gives fantastic insight into how to achieve your goals. From a young age Sampras knew what he wanted to achieve and worked hard to accomplish it.
The book is for Sampras and tennis lovers. It focuses on point matches and the tale behind them.

Excitedly, I selected up this book immediately upon its relief. What an opportunity to learn about the inner workings of one of the most enigmatic champions of our era, a man who never revealed much, and kept his emotions and thoughts to himself. Alas, the mind of the champion is vacant. Platitudes, cliches, and minimal insight. A tremendous disappointment. It appears the reason Sampras never said much was he had small to say. Nothing has changed.
