This is the best pattern book ever. I’ve got many, many knitting and crochet books. I try to only buy a book if there are at least 3 projects in it that I would want to do. But this book has surpassed all my additional books. 60 projects are in here and I really want to knit at least 40 of them. Maybe ALL of them. I’ve had it only two weeks now and I’ve just finished my 2nd scarf. Casting on for another today and maybe a pair of mittens tomorrow. So far the patterns have been very simple but appealing as well. In fact, I’m building most of my Christmas gifts this year from this book. This is one book I’ll never regret buying!

I orginally bought this book for one pattern and one pattern only, the Child’s Octopus Mittens. After having the chance to look though the entire book, I am offically impressed. All of the patterns are at least to some extent appealing, and many of them are downright gorgeous. I have at least fifteen of them on my to-do list. One of the greatest things about this book is the fact that all of the patterns use Cascade 220, a fantastic yarn in it’s own right but also one that is easily substituted for nearly any additional excellent worsted weight you have on hand. Most of these projects also only take one or two skeins, so this book would be fantastic for stash busting.
