Right in the middle of a Sarah Vowell tale “Shooting Daddy” is part of a tale by Amy Tran (at page 436). Pages 421 – 436 are repeated causing confusion when one of persons stores is required reading.
This book (50 Essays: A portable Anthology (2nd edition) by Samuel Cohen and published by Bedford/St. Martin should have not left the publisher in this state and customers should not have had to pay full fee for this book.
It is just too much distress to try and get my money back or get some sort of additional solution as my daughter needs this book every day as her class is a summer class and meets every day.
Bring shame on on you Bedford/St. Martins and leader Sam Cohen who edited this book. If anyone wants to contact the publisher on my behalf I will not agrue.

Sorry to say, the soul purpose of this book is for liberal teachers to use young college students as their useful idiots.

The book was supposed to be used and in excellent condition. When the book arrived, the take in was all bent, it was all hand written, and pink, green and yellow highlighter in every essay. The seller didn’t ever bother to take several post-its sticking out of pages as markers. If this seller considers what I received GOOD, I don’t even imagine what’s FAIR. Oh, and the fee I paid was not worth it at all. A new book was just a few dollars more.
Never again with this buyer.

This book is commonly used as an english writing class text. It is very generously biased and does not offer any balance. I would not recommend its use as a text with out using something that provides more contrast.
