There are some really tasty sounding new recipes in this expanded 30 Day Gourmet cookbook. Sorry to say the 30 Day Huge Book of Freezer Cooking left out some of the 30 Day Gourmet standards such as the baking mix or the Quick Cobbler Mix. Both recipes allow the meager cook the opportunity to stash these mixes in the cupboard for later use to make baked goods or desserts. Also missing was the Kid’s Like It Meatloaf establish in one of the 30 Day Gourmet Cookbooklet spin-offs. This is a thrifty, tasty kid approved recipe at my house. It would have been nice to see some of the holiday recipes included in the Huge Book of Freezer Cooking, as I was left with the impression, this book was to encompass a wide variety of 30 Day Gourmet recipes printed in additional 30 Day Gourmet cookbooks.
That being written the cookbook does offer some lighter sounding recipes such as Chicken Tikka or Orange Cinnamon Chicken. Options are also agreed for preparing “lighter” versions of recipes such as the Chicken Broccoli Fettuccine. Not all the recipes are agreed a lighter version but there are some recipes available for this method of preparation.

If you want to save money, time, and your sanity feeding your family tree. Freezer cooking is the way to go. Whether you have just a tiny freezer or a large one it can work. I have the first 30 day Gourmet freezer cook book and fell in like with the concept. Now a year later I am still freezer cooking. When I am a way from home in the evening I do not worry about how or what the children will be fed. I got this new 30 Day Gourmet Huge Book and I just like it. The colored pictures and the spiral bind makes freezer cooking with so much simpler. My othe book I took apart and place in a three ring binder so I could keep it open. Not this one. These books inspired me to try to feed my family tree excellent food, but also control what they are putting into their bodies as well. This book is an brilliant choice for all beginners who know nothing about freezer cooking. The recipes in this book have passed the kid test in my house When recipes in additional books I have did not. Fantastic Book!! Colored Pictures, Simple to read. This cook book is now the favorite of all the others.

I preordered this new cookbook and am very pleased with the recipes. These gals have a knack for choosing simple-to-prepare, relatively inexpensive and tasty recipes that everyday people will delight in.
A wonderful feature in their newest book is the spiral binding which allows the cookbook to lie flat when opened, and the colored photos of every recipe. The cookbook includes helpful information on choosing and preparation your batch cooking – such as whether to cook alone or with another, preparation your grocery shopping, keeping track of your ingredients and containers, etc. There are reproducible worksheets for your preparation stages, including such items as a tally sheet, recipe worksheet, recipe inventory checklist and monthly menu planner. And then the recipes: Beef, Poultry, Pork & Fish, Meatless, Breads & Breakfast, Soups & Sandwiches, Sides & Salads, Sauces & Marinades, Appetizers, Food and drink, and Desserts. And finally an Appendix which includes helpful information such as equivalency charts, freezing times, blanching chart for veggies, etc., information on choosing and caring for a freezer, and even a page devoted to what to do when you have a power failure and a freezer full of prepared entrees.
Out of the many cookbooks I own, I find myself choosing recipes from the 30-Day Gourmet most regularly. I highly recommend this cookbook!

I’ve been freezer cooking for about ten years and am constantly looking for new recipes and inspiration. After a while, all the cookbooks look the same- until now. This cookbook has the greatest variety of recipes I’ve seen specifically for freezer cooking along with detailed instructions for freezing and serving. No casseroles and pot luck dinner meals! These recipes range from main dishes to desserts to soups to food and drink. If that wasn’t excellent enough, each recipe lists the amount of ingredients needed as the recipe is multiplied. The preparation worksheet, tally sheet, shopping list and menu planner are provided. Preparation has never been simpler. For beginners, this book also serves as a manual with a step by step instructions and pictures to guide through the process. But my favorite part of this cookbook is the nutritional information that each recipe provides. I strive to provide healthy, well balanced meals and this information assures that I can do just that.
Last Saturday I chose to give this new cookbook a try (with the help of my kids). We ongoing preparation at 7am and by 5pm we had filled our freezer with sixteen meals, six side dishes and six desserts. All this for $150. We have loved everything we’ve eaten far! Now I can step out of the kitchen, delight in the spring weather and start preparation our meals for next month!
